Join us for an exciting afternoon session full of exploring the possibilities of slab built vessels!
Emily will take you through various handbuilding techniques in clay, enabling you to build your own unique vessel. Combining slab building with coiling and pinching techniques.
Learn how to create your own unique marks, patterns and textures onto clay with slips and undergalzes, using various techniques such as monoprinting, screenprinting and sgraffito to decorate your final vessel.
All materials and tools will be provided, as well as refreshments. So all you need to bring is yourself and an apron! Perfect for beginners and those wanting to learn a new skill.
£50 per person - includes all materials, tools, kiln firing, and refreshments.
Parking/Travel: The hall is situated to the rear of Marygate Car Park. Parking at Marygate car park is approx. £20 per day. The best option if travelling by car is to park at Rawcliffe Park and Ride, YO30 5XZ, and to get the bus to Bootham. The hall is just a short walk from Bootham down Marygate Road. The park and ride is approx. £3.80 for the day.
If travelling by train then the easiest way to get to the hall is to exit the train station via the short stay carpark and walk over the river across Scarborough Bridge. This brings you to Marygate car park and the hall is situated in the top right hand corner of the car park.
